Any speaker your iPhone can play to: AirPlay speakers and TVs such as HomePod and Apple TV, Bluetooth speakers, wired speakers or a PA, and the iPhone's own speaker. Choose it with the speaker button at the top of the app.

AirPlay speakers hold a little audio before they play it. Megaphone keeps that buffer short, about 0.7 seconds by default. If your voice cuts out, tap Breaking up? to add a bit more, and the app remembers it for that speaker. Bluetooth and wired speakers usually have a shorter delay, which the app shows.

Live talk goes to one speaker at a time, because that's how iOS sends a live microphone. To reach several AirPlay 2 speakers, use Announce: record your message and it plays on every speaker you select.

Live talk is never recorded. Announce records your message on your iPhone so it can play it. That recording is deleted when you record a new one or leave the app, unless you save it. Saved announcements stay on your iPhone until you delete them. Nothing is uploaded.

Feedback suppression is on by default and turns down the howl as soon as it starts. If you see the warning, move a few steps away from the speaker or turn it down a little.

Yes. Live talk and announcements keep playing when your iPhone locks.

Apple manages subscriptions. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose the app and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Use Restore Purchases in the app, signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy. If it still doesn’t appear, write to us with the date of the purchase (never send card details).

Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves, but we’re happy to help if something isn’t working.
