Text Export turns a conversation into a clear PDF record: every message dated and attributed to the right person, on numbered pages. It's made for the moments when a lawyer, an HR team or an insurer asks to see the texts.

iPhone doesn't let any app read Messages directly, so the app works from what you give it. Record your screen while you scroll through the conversation, or take screenshots, and the app reads each message on your iPhone. WhatsApp chats come in through WhatsApp's own export, with exact times. Then you review everything, fix what needs fixing, black out personal details and export.

Everything happens on your iPhone. There's no account and no upload, and the app only sees the recording or screenshots you pick. The PDF is a record of the conversation as it appeared on screen. On its own it doesn't establish authenticity or admissibility, so ask your lawyer what your court needs.

What it does

Features

  1. Three ways in

    Make a screen recording while you scroll, pick screenshots in any order, or open a WhatsApp chat export. Overlapping screenshots and frames are matched up and repeats removed.

  2. The right sender, real dates

    The app tells messages apart by bubble side and color, reads the date headings, and picks up exact times when you swipe left in Messages while recording. Lines it isn't sure about are flagged for you to check.

  3. Review before you export

    Search the conversation, fix any text, sender or time, add a message the import missed, reorder messages, or shift every date at once. Anything added during review is marked as such in every export.

  4. Black out personal details

    Redact phone numbers, addresses or whole messages. Redactions carry through to the original screenshots in the appendix.

  5. A PDF ready to hand over

    A cover page with the case name, exhibit number and participants. Sender, date and time on every message. Page numbers and optional Bates numbers, the original screenshots in an appendix, and a verification page with SHA-256 fingerprints.

  6. Other formats, and a lock

    Export plain text, a CSV spreadsheet or a web page too, for the whole chat or a date range. Turn on the Face ID lock to keep conversations private.
